The Techies' "Apocalypse: Rescheduled" Podcast
Where we talk about things, and also stuff.
From The Techies comes our (not quite) new podcast; Apocalypse: Rescheduled! Brining you the latest in technology, movies, television, video games, and other "miscellaneous" topics, with the added "benefit" of our insightful commentary. I know, sounds terrible doesn't it? Featuring Ben, Corey, and introducing long-time friend of The Techies, Thomas! Join us each week as we assail the mountain of our own ignorance, in search of just a few moments of distraction from the day to day of banality of our lives. Will Corey and Ben ever make another movie? Does Thomas actually have autism? Will the podcast ever be seen by anyone? Just what exactly is wrong with these people? These questions and more will be completely ignored on: Apocalypse: Rescheduled!
It also may have taken us seven weeks to come up with a title, but please don't hold that against us.
It's the "Scariest Episode Ever" this week, our Spooky Halloween Spectacular! Also our 13th episode. Coincidence? Yes. And don't expect to much about Halloween, basically the "special" part is that we watch two horror movies, and talked about Corey's missing childhood. Plus, we opened a bunch of Halloween Overwatch Lootboxes (and yes it's as boring as it sounds, feel free to skip that part). Next week's episode will be out tomorrow because I am sick of being behind schedule.
The first in what was sort of accidentally a two-part Halloween episode, only not at all recorded at the same time. This episode, a bunch of tech news, even some actual news and not just the normal bullshit we talk about. Also, Nintendo Switch, Red Dead Redemption 2, and more. We talked about Arrow, we talked about Logan, and Corey and Thomas complain unendingly about the Fly (1986) our movie of the week (I think it's great though).]
Following last week's delay podcast, we're back early! This week, our 2016 Roadtrip stories, Japan ruining the Olypmics, Thomas' proposed new video series, Overwatch talk, the Rogue One trailer and movie discussion, and our movie of the week: Predators. Plus, a lengthy discussion of the worst 9-1-1 operator of all time. And, in what is becoming a pattern, we spent the first twenty minutes talking about some off-topic bullshit, this time the wonders of meme.com, and the .meme top level domain.
Following the devastation of hurricane Mathew, Thomas complains about the various minor incontinences he has suffered as a result of the storm. And for the first time ever, Apocalypse: Rescheduled has a guest, Walker, friend of the show and real life lumberjack impersonator. For the life of me I can't remember what we talked about, but I'm sure it was great. Also, the storm delayed us, but we'll be back regularly.
Our journey to the stars begins now! Our discussions lean heavily towards the subjects of exploration of space, whether it be through Elon Musk or otherwise, and Thomas' efforts to tricking them into taking him with them. Extended discussion of Highlander(1986), Game of Thrones, and Luke Cage, as well as Overwatch and Gears of War 4 news. And in what is becoming a continuing trend, extended hypothetical discussions.
The first episode with an official call out to the new name of the podcast. This week's big topics: The Magnificent Seven, Gears of War 4, Pokemon Sun and Moon, Terabit internet, abuse of internet kiosks in NYC, the future of Nintendo, and old-fashioned habbits. It's better than it sounds.
Ghost Pants, perhaps the worst named podcast episode so far, but hey, they can't all be winners. Amazingly, we almost named the podcast this week, but ultimately didn't; some last second cold feet and the entrance of a new name quickly ended our hopes and dreams. While we had intended to cover a variety of news this week, we got to almost none of it, and the episode is largely a free-flowing conversation about who knows what, so if that's your cup of tea, it's your lucky day.
Join us to celebrate the 15th anniversary of 9/11, in a tasteful and not at all offensive manner (trying to avoid getting' shut down like them mattress people). This week our biggest topic is our lengthy discussion of the future of automation and its impacts on the US and global economy. We also have a whole section on creepy sex clowns trying to lure children into the woods, with in depth analysis and conspiracy theories supplied by Thomas! Featuring our brand new Hole in the Wall segment.
Oh man this episode, boy, what a nightmare. Not like the content itself or anything, it's just everything else about and around it, just did not want to be made. I can't wait to never think about it again. Anyway, what did we talk about? This one was pretty tech heavy, like most of the podcast was about tech news, or at least related to that. There was a big chunk about Japan 2020 Olympics, mostly because of Mario and the fake meteor shower.
This week bringing you the latest in "news" on the possibilities of sex robots, and why the future will probably be terrible. PLUS, our discussion of new horror film "Don't Breath", childhood video game experiences, and several instances of Thomas being terrible (as a person, and at not choking to death). It's a bunch of fun, check it out.
Episode Three of the (then) Untitled Podcast: In this episode, we talked about weird news stories, private prisons, music, Overwatch changes and season 2 of competitive, Thor Ragnarok and future comicbook movies, Pokemon the movie, Danny Devito, Pokemon Go, Telltale, choice (and the illusion there of) in video games, boardgames, and no one's favorite movie: Clue (the best movie about a boardgame not named Jumanji).
So much pokemon talk. It seriously was a lot. Also, Lethal Weapon, great movie, or pretty good movie? We decide! There's some Overwatch talk, Thomas bitches about wage slave life, and then there's like a whole 'nother hour that I didn't bother to listen back to. Corey's audio echo is really fucky this time, I swear we'll figure it out for the next one. We tried playing a bot match of Overwatch while recording, I don't think it went very well.
It's the first episode of the all new Techies podcast! Only problem is we forgot to name it... A personality driven podcast with no one's favorite internet personalities! This week we covered a bunch of topics, including Pokemon Go, the Olympics, Overwatch, Star Trek, Suicide Squad, Stranger Things, Xbox games, summer movies generally, tech news, and our film projects, plus Thomas probably complained about his job.
